Ghana will make us proud

Where I live there is no interest in soccer, they don’t even care how bis our houses are. We have a big yard, a big house, so what we have to do is to bring our families together and make some fun and braai. Make noise with the vuvuzuela, watch soccer together. Even if we do not reach the stadiums but we can still watch soccer at home. Because we do have TV’s and let us watch with the family.

But I do not see that happening in Vereeniging. I live there with my aunt. All I see is white people not enjoying soccer. And it is not that I am criticizing them. And why I see that is because it is the majority of black people that are trying to make our worl the funniest world and our tourists are enjoying the Worl Cup because of black people. They make noise to show that the World Cup is not done. It is still there.

The majority of people has lost hope. It is gone, yes. But Ghana is still there. Ghana is trying to put South Africa on the map. Let’s hope Ghana will make us proud. The World Cup is not only for black people, but for all South Africans. Keep blowing the vuvuzelas. Some white people do blow the vuvuzela, but not many in our white neighbourhood in Tweerivers, in Vereeniging. When we celebrate sometimes with some of our friends, the neighbours do complain about us, about the noise. We dont feel welcomed. So I still like to go to Lebohang High School in Boipatong, my auntie drives me about 20 minutes to dropp me off at school. I have my friends there.
